RANDOM PICS

Here are some random pics from the last few days. First, Connor got to meet Uncle Ryan and Aunt Amanda for the first time:

Next, pics from the open house after Jaidyn's Baby Blessing:

(Unfortunately, Jaidyn was sleeping...)

Next, a visit to Grandma Clark (Nana's) house:

Amanda let me play with her super-nice SLR camera and equipment while we were there. Here are some pics that I took:

I'm sold! It was all I could do to stop myself from ordering an SLR that night. (Darn you, Dave Ramsey!) ;) Then Amanda (who knows what she's doing) took some photos:

Connor has also had increasing trouble with eczema. One suggestion to help was to make sure he got soaked good when we bathed him. He's a little too small and squirmy to try to bath him in deep water still, so that posed a problem. I walked into the bathroom this morning to see Tiff's solution:

PUTTING ON SOME WEIGHT

Connor has made up for his first couple months of worrying the doctor with his weight to making her extremely happy this last month:

(Bet you thought he was going to spit up at the end, didn't you?)

WORTH THE MONEY?

For a while now, I've wanted to get a new digital camera. Up until now, we've just used the digital camera that Tiffany had bought before we got married. It's pretty nice, but it's been a few years since she bought it, and there are a lot of new features on the new cameras.

I finally broke down last week and ordered a new one. It got here yesterday. So here's the official test on whether I got my money's worth. Which photo is taken with the new camera? (I just used the automatic settings for each camera.)

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

FOOD ANGER

It would appear that Connor has inherited at least one of Daddy's traits... Food Anger. He's generally a really easy-going little guy, but if he doesn't eat a real food on his normal schedule, he gets a little grumpy (as demonstrated here):

VIDEOS

Connor is a little unsure about his toy...

He had been smiling like crazy... until we turned the video camera on.

A GLIMPSE INTO MY LIFE...

I was just in the kitchen, and I noticed something that made me chuckle. A couple months ago, Tiff got some candy to put in the candy jar. She chose one of our personal favorites, Starbursts. I was just cooking dinner, and I noticed that the jar looked like this...

That made me laugh, and then I remembered that Tiffany had also gotten me a bag of Starbursts along with other candy that was sitting in the candy bowl. So I went over to the bowl and opened the bag, and I saw this...

Notice a pattern? ;) That's why we go so good together -- I eat the lemon Starbursts.

PICTURE TIME

Connor zonked. We love it when he puts his little fist up to his chin like this.

He spends an hour or two each day sitting in his bouncer. What's he so fascinated with....?

Mom, getting ready. (And not too happy about Dad taking a picture.)

Connor decided he was ready to go for a jog... until he remembered he can't walk yet.

So he decided to sit down for a bit.

I finally got the camera to take a nice, clear, close-up shot of Connor. Viola! (Someday I'll have a nice camera...)

We think Connor has finally discovered his tongue. He loves to stick it out now, as he demonstrates in this picture.

As Letterman says, Sorry to get all "Kathy Lee" on you with all these pics, but we just think he's the cutest. :)

TRYING TO BE LIKE DADDY...

I woke up this morning to see that Connor's left eye was swollen.

(There was no screwdriver to be found, so I'm guessing he must have rubbed his eye in some spit up during the night.)

BIG SMILE

I don't think it's fair that Mom gets the bigger smile...

We went to the doctor on Tuesday to have Connor weighed, and he had gone from the 19% in weight two weeks before to the 2% in weight. The doctor was concerned, so she had us feed Connor only hypoallergenic formula for three days, and we brought him back in to have him weighed. I wondered how much he could possibly gain in three days... The answer: 7.5 ounces!

So all signs point to Connor having a Milk Protein Allergy, and the doc ordered us off breastmilk and onto the hypoallergenic formula. Connor has only one question now that he's 8 lbs 4 oz... Which way to the gym?

Here he is, chillaxin in the tub.

NOTE FROM CONNOR

I came home from lunch on Wednesday to find this lying on my bed. :)

One thing that we've found over the past couple months is that, no matter how hard we try or how good we think we've wrapped him up, Connor will find a way to get his hands out of the blanket and into the freezing cold air. This is a new position I hadn't seen before though -- It looks to me like he should be saying "Yo!" while doing this.

EXPRESSIONS

I'm guessing he's dreaming about Daddy... ;)

CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR'S PICS

Here are a few pics we took over the holidays. Connor's outfit in this picture sums it up from Tiffany's perspective:

One trick we've discovered to help Connor to go to sleep is to put his Baby Colors where he can sit and stare at it in his crib (although not generally this close to his face.) He'll just lie there and study it, and next thing he knows, he's asleep.

... as demonstrated in this picture.

For New Year's Day, we went over first to Grandma Sherlene's house for "dinner" at about 2:00. It was seriously tasty! This picture is once again attempting to make Holley jealous. ;)

Connor was checking Grandma out in this pic. (He started this week to focus on people.)

Then we headed over to Steve & Laura's for the Hilton New Year's Day crab-fest. Here is our first family picture.

It's been a fun, but tiring week. I woke up this morning about 10:30 and noticed Connor was not in the cradle. I looked over and saw that Mommy must have been too tired to get up and put him in the cradle after his 8:30 breakfast. I don't blame her.

Happy 2009!
