GOT MILK?

For those who haven't seen, this is what happens when Connor gets a little accidental dairy in his food.

Every time we notice blotches on his face appearing, we look at the can to see what we missed. This time is was whey made from milk in some vegetable puffs. Whoopsie! Sorry, Connor!

SMALL GLIMPSE INTO OUR LIFE

Connor is making new discoveries every day. Today he combined a previous discovery, gravity, with the new discovery of the lamp.

OCTOBER PICS

I've been slacking on getting new pics updated, so I thought I'd post a few from the last few days:

Daddy's Favorite (which happens less and less frequently with each passing day...)

Connor NEVER falls asleep with people holding him anymore -- I guess G-pa has the magic touch.

Our cute boy!

Connor hasn't had any candy (that we know of, *cough* Grandmas! *cough*...) up until Sunday. We were going to wait until he turns 1 in a month, but Daddy was having a piece of black licorice, and he thought it might be funny to see Connor's reaction if he tasted it. To Daddy's surprise, he REALLY liked it!

Connor was on the bed with us this morning playing, and he smacked his head into the headboard pretty good. He doesn't usually cry when he bonks his head, so we knew it must have hurt when he started crying. We got up and got him calmed down and set him down to play. It wasn't more than a few mins, and we heard another thud, and he started crying again. Neither of us saw what happened, but based on the marks on his head, we think he must have fallen head first into the humidifier.

You can see that they puffed out quite a bit in this picture. (And if you look really close at the top left side of his forehead, you can see the other red mark from the first bonk.)

If anybody needs any birthday ideas, he may need a helmet... ;)

BATH TIME #2

BATH TIME

I suppose every parent has a picture like this. Connor apparently decided we weren't getting him ready for the bath quickly enough this morning. Tiff and I were standing in the bathroom while his tub was filling up, and next thing we heard was a splash and a big bonk. Tiffany grabbed Connor, who had dumped himself into the tub, headfirst and fully clothed. It scared him a little at first, but then he thought it was pretty funny.

(Notice the big bonk mark on his head from where he hit.)

GROWING UP & CLIMBING DOWN

This development came yesterday.

He figured out a couple weeks ago how to go up the steps, but we've obviously been stressed about him trying to climb down onto stone steps head first. To Tiffany's motherly horror, I finally just let him try it yesterday. I got a few recordings of his first few close call attempts, but I couldn't get them to upload because they were so long. But, as you can see, he's now got it down pretty good. (Although Tiffany still holds her breath every time he tries.)

HIGH CHAIR FUN

One of my favorite things about babies is when they get old enough to eat "Biter Biscuits". I love it because they are so unbeliveably messy. We introduced Connor to the Biter Biscuit a few weeks ago, and this was the result.

Connor has also learned a few more tricks. Some are cute...

Some... not so cute...

P.S. Thanks, Melanie and Dave, for the high chair! :)

GET UP

Connor has figured out how to pull himself up. Now he stands up...

... when it's way past bedtime.

... wherever he can find the most expensive thing in the room.

... whenever Mommy needs help with the dishes.

... to check out the outside world.

... when it's time for some baseball.

... anytime the laundry machine is going.

... to pursue his favorite pasttime: watching cars go by.

... against things that roll. (Tiffany and I weren't too happy that he made this discovery today after only 9 months.) :(

So we've resorted to barriers...

... but we discover on a daily basis that our baby-proof house is not so baby-proof. :)

He is one cute, very busy, little boy. :)

LOGAN

We just got back from a visit to see our new nephew, Logan Robert Hilton. Joel & Bethany had their baby early this morning at 3:13 AM. 8 lbs, 3 oz, 22 inches. He's such a cute baby! Here are some pics from our visit:

Sweet baby boy

Check out that hair!

They are a happy fam-i-ly! (minus Connor in the carseat)

This is what Logan did for 99% of our visit. :)

With Logan's soon-to-be favorite uncle.

Connor LOVED Logan

Mommy enjoying her luxurious hospital meal.

Diaper-changing time!

And... open eyes!

We love you, Logan! :)
