CAMBREE DAWN HILTON

She's finally here! Cambree was born at 7:50 this morning. She was 8 lbs, 7 oz, and she was 21 1/2" long.

We got to the hospital at 5:30 this morning in preparation for the C-section. Turns out Tiff was actually having pretty regular contractions 2-3 minutes apart (she didn't even realize it), so maybe it would have been today either way. Here's Tiff checking out the contractions on the monitor.

After filling out a bunch of papers and getting an IV, we went into the surgery room where they began to prep her and put in the epidural. The last time we were there, everything was kind of rushed and she had already been prepped. It was kind of strange this time to be able to look around the room and check out everything and picture what had happened two years ago in the same room.

After a few minutes, she was ready to go, and Dr. Seale came in to perform the surgery. He was great, as always, and within about 20 minutes he said, "Here she comes!" He reached in, and they pulled her right out without any problems.

One of the nurses said, "Wow -- She's big." And Dr. Seale said, "Yeah -- You wouldn't have expected this baby to come out of Tiffany." They cut the cord and handed her over to the nurses to clean her off. These were the first pics I could snap after she was born.

They got her cleaned up, and here she is chillin' with me in the nursery while the doctors put Mommy back together (which seemed like a really, really long time.)

The doctor said that everything went really well, and back in Recovery, Tiffany got to hold Cambree for the first time.

We got out of Recovery and into our room, and Sherlene brought Connor up to meet his little sister for the first time. He was really tentative at first and didn't want Tiffany or me to hold him. Finally, he let me hold him long enough to show him the baby, but he wouldn't get near Tiff or the baby. I'm sure he was scared that she was in a bed with all sorts of wires coming out of her. But Grandma knew the magic trick and asked him if he wanted to hold the baby. He said yes, so she let him. And for the rest of the visit that's all he wanted to do.

Then we had a few more visitors.

This experience and the experience we had with Connor two years ago were night and day. This couldn't have gone more smoothly compared to the emotional roller coaster when Connor was born. Tiffany is feeling pretty good. And the pediatrician just came in a little bit ago to check Cambree out, and she said she looks great. Tiffany and I are both really grateful and excited (and Connor seems to be excited as well.)

Cambree is a beautiful little girl, and we're excited to have her be part of our family! :)
