CAMBREE'S FIRST FEW DAYS

Connor absolutely loves his little sister! He always wants to hold and kiss her. So cute! Let's hope he's always that nice to her. (Here's hoping) ;)

Cambree, just like her brother, needed to be under the lights to lower her bilirubin. I love the little goggles!

All ready to go home. Just waiting to be discharged and get the bili-lights. Her bili levels are still too high so we get the priviledge of taking the lights home.

CAMBREE DAWN HILTON

She's finally here! Cambree was born at 7:50 this morning. She was 8 lbs, 7 oz, and she was 21 1/2" long.

We got to the hospital at 5:30 this morning in preparation for the C-section. Turns out Tiff was actually having pretty regular contractions 2-3 minutes apart (she didn't even realize it), so maybe it would have been today either way. Here's Tiff checking out the contractions on the monitor.

After filling out a bunch of papers and getting an IV, we went into the surgery room where they began to prep her and put in the epidural. The last time we were there, everything was kind of rushed and she had already been prepped. It was kind of strange this time to be able to look around the room and check out everything and picture what had happened two years ago in the same room.

After a few minutes, she was ready to go, and Dr. Seale came in to perform the surgery. He was great, as always, and within about 20 minutes he said, "Here she comes!" He reached in, and they pulled her right out without any problems.

One of the nurses said, "Wow -- She's big." And Dr. Seale said, "Yeah -- You wouldn't have expected this baby to come out of Tiffany." They cut the cord and handed her over to the nurses to clean her off. These were the first pics I could snap after she was born.

They got her cleaned up, and here she is chillin' with me in the nursery while the doctors put Mommy back together (which seemed like a really, really long time.)

The doctor said that everything went really well, and back in Recovery, Tiffany got to hold Cambree for the first time.

We got out of Recovery and into our room, and Sherlene brought Connor up to meet his little sister for the first time. He was really tentative at first and didn't want Tiffany or me to hold him. Finally, he let me hold him long enough to show him the baby, but he wouldn't get near Tiff or the baby. I'm sure he was scared that she was in a bed with all sorts of wires coming out of her. But Grandma knew the magic trick and asked him if he wanted to hold the baby. He said yes, so she let him. And for the rest of the visit that's all he wanted to do.

Then we had a few more visitors.

This experience and the experience we had with Connor two years ago were night and day. This couldn't have gone more smoothly compared to the emotional roller coaster when Connor was born. Tiffany is feeling pretty good. And the pediatrician just came in a little bit ago to check Cambree out, and she said she looks great. Tiffany and I are both really grateful and excited (and Connor seems to be excited as well.)

Cambree is a beautiful little girl, and we're excited to have her be part of our family! :)

DADDY'S PLAYTIME

Daddy's idea of playtime is a little more dangerous than Mommy's! Spencer and his brother's used to do this with his sister's kids and thought it would be fun to try out on Connor. Connor obviously thought it was awesome! Me, Not so much.

MOMMY'S PLAYTIME

Connor loves to color and use stickers. He still has a tendancy to color on things besides paper so, Thanks to Crayola for making washable markers! His favorite color choice is blue.

GRANDMA'S PLAYTIME

Grandma Sherlene and Connor singing some of his favorite songs.

Grandma trying to teach him how to put his fingers in a circle. He doesn't quite have that coordination yet.

This will probably be my last post for a while so I thought I would get a lot of stuff in. You'll have to rely on Spencer for the baby updates. Cross your fingers! ;)

CONNOR "THE DOCTOR"

Today in Sacrament Meeting Connor was coloring with his "magnetic doodler" and all the sudden he wanted to color on my stomach. It was funny cause he's never done it before so I let him. But, it didn't stop at that. He then wanted to lift my shirt so he could touch my stomach (I didn't let him do that). He then put the pen on my stomach and moved it around and then looked at the magnetic board, put the pen back and shook my hand. He did that a couple times before I realized what he was doing. The third time he said "Listen, baby sister" and repeated everything again and added touching the magnetic board with the pen. I pointed it out to Spencer and he laughed with me.

Apparently Connor's been enjoying the Doctor visits a little too much! He has picked up on everything that Doctor Seale does. Each time we go to the Doctor he checks the baby's heartbeat and asks Connor if he can hear it. He then puts all the info he needs into his computer by tapping on his tablet PC with a stylus (kindof like an iPad with a pen), we talk for a minute and then he shakes our hands goodbye.

I guess Connor felt like his "magnetic doodler" looked like the instrument Doctor Seale uses to check the baby's heartbeat. Of course he chose to demonstrate his observation smarts during sacrament, where it's not really appropriate to take pictures. :)

We're realizing more and more each day if we don't want Connor to repeat it in words or actions not to do it. Smart little bugger!

READY TO POP

We're down to a little over a week until baby time. Tiff and I are getting really excited and nervous, and poor Connor doesn't know what he's in for. Tiff has everything organized and ready to go, and she's bought enough cute girl clothes that I think we shouldn't need any more until this little girl is 6 years-old (although she would be quick to point out how fast babies grow and tell me that we only have enough to get us to 9 months.) I think she's a little excited! :) I gotta admit... all the little girl outfits she's picked out are pretty dang cute!

So, in spite of the risk of being asked to sleep on the couch for the rest of 2011, I am posting these pics. Hope you appreciate them! ;)

BLOCK TOWERS

Connor's favorite thing these days is to make block towers. He's pretty good at it.

When he can't reach the top by standing on the chair he gets on the table.

He's very intent at making sure it doesn't fall.

But, when it does it's the funniest thing in the world!

OH SO EXCITED!

Doesn't he look just ecstatic to get his hair cut again?

This time wasn't so bad because I had help, aka: Spencer, to keep him distracted (besides the Oreo's).

The bruise under his eye came from his soy milk. How you ask? It had a little help from me. I buy them in packages of 2 or 3 so they are in boxes. While I was putting them away I picked one up and turned and unfortunatley Connor was standing right behind me. I felt horrible, but luckily it hit his face and not his eye. I doubt he saw it that way because he only wanted Daddy to comfort him.

Connor thinks Spencer is hilarious! (So does Spencer);)

His hair cut turned out much better this time since there wasn't any crying and a lot less wiggling. Eventhough, he obviously doesn't like it.
